What it is

UV PCBs for curing, disinfection and printing

UV LEDs concentrate a lot of power into a small footprint and degrade fast if heat is not managed, so the board matters as much as the diode. We build the full range on thermally efficient aluminum, or on a ceramic LED PCB for high-output UVC and dense arrays.

UV also breaks ordinary surfaces: standard green mask and FR-4 resin degrade under exposure. We use UV-stable mask or reflective metal finishes to protect the board and recover usable output.

Design note

Why UV boards aren't normal LED boards

Two things break ordinary boards under UV: heat, and the ultraviolet itself. UVC in particular carries enough energy to degrade standard resins and mask over time. We address both with a short thermal path — see our high-power approach — plus UV-resistant surfaces so output and reliability hold across the product's life.

  • UV-stable mask — resists yellowing under constant exposure.
  • Ceramic for UVC — AlN for the hottest arrays.
  • High-TC dielectric — low junction-to-case resistance.
  • Reflective finish — recovers usable UV output.
  • Accurate arrays — uniform dose across the field.

UV LED PCB — FAQ

The full range: UVA at 365/385/395/405 nm, UVB, and UVC around 265–280 nm, on aluminum or ceramic bases depending on power density.

Standard green solder mask and FR-4 resin degrade under ultraviolet — especially UVC — leading to yellowing and delamination. UV boards need UV-stable mask or metal finishes plus strong thermal management.

Aluminum with a high thermal-conductivity dielectric suits most UVA curing and printing. For high-output UVC and dense arrays, aluminum nitride ceramic removes far more heat.

Often yes — a reflective or UV-tuned finish recovers usable output a standard surface would absorb, improving dose and efficiency.

Yes — turnkey fabrication, UV diode sourcing, SMT assembly and testing. See LED PCB assembly.
