Flexible LED PCBs —
light that follows the shape.

Polyimide-based boards that bend, fold and roll — the foundation of LED strips and any product where the light has to follow a curve or fit a tight space.

What it is

Flexible LED PCBs that bend and conform

A flexible LED PCB uses a thin polyimide film instead of a rigid base, so the board can bend around curves, fold into tight enclosures or roll onto a reel — the foundation of LED strips and any product where the light has to follow a shape.

Because polyimide is thin, thermal management needs care, so for higher-power designs we use thermal vias, wider copper or aluminum-backed hybrids. Flexible boards pair naturally with automotive interior lighting and curved fixtures; where a product needs both rigid and bending zones we build rigid-flex. For high-heat areas a rigid aluminum PCB is the better choice.

Thermal note

Flexible, but thermal-aware

Polyimide is thin, so heat has a limited path to escape. For higher-power flexible designs we add thermal vias, heavier copper or an aluminum-backed hybrid; for the hottest fixtures a rigid high-power board is usually the right call.

  • Bend-aware routing — for static or dynamic flex.
  • Thermal vias — extra heat paths where needed.
  • Al-backed hybrid — flex with a metal heat spreader.
  • Rigid-flex — board plus interconnect in one.
  • Addressable — RGB and per-LED control.

Flexible LED PCB — FAQ

A thin polyimide film with flexible copper instead of a rigid base, so the board can bend, fold or roll onto a reel. A coverlay or flexible solder mask protects the circuit.

Polyimide is thin, so heat removal is limited. For higher power we add thermal vias, heavier copper or an aluminum-backed hybrid; for the hottest designs a rigid aluminum MCPCB is usually better.

Yes — rigid-flex combines bending sections with rigid sections in one board, which can replace a separate board and connector and improve reliability.

Yes — addressable RGB and individually controlled diodes on flexible substrates, in long strip and reel formats.

Yes — turnkey fabrication and assembly on flexible and rigid-flex boards, including sourcing and testing. See LED PCB assembly.

Let's build your flexible LED PCB.

From LED strips to rigid-flex modules — partner with a manufacturer that routes for the bend and the heat.
