Calculation Formulas

Free-space wavelength: λ₀ = c / f = 299.792 / f(MHz) [mm]

Effective dielectric: εeff ≈ (εr + 1)/2 + (εr – 1)/2 × (1 + 12h/W)^(-0.5)

Effective wavelength: λeff = λ₀ / √εeff

Quarter-wave monopole: L = λeff / 4

Half-wave dipole: L = λeff / 2 (each arm = λeff / 4)

IFA/PIFA: L + W ≈ λeff / 4
