Electronic Components Sourcing

Sourcing high-quality electronic components is essential to create quality products for your brand. Choosing the right parts ensures that your products are functional and useful for end users.

Our prototype runs are often a mix of large BGAs and tiny 0201 components, and we’ve had issues with other assembers on yield. PCBsync’s assembly team delivered a perfect first-run success. The board was pristine, the solder joints were impeccable under the microscope, and everything worked straight out of the box. Their attention to detail in the assembly process saved us weeks of debug time. They are now our go-to for critical prototype assembly.

Scaling from hundreds to tens of thousands of units for our smart home device presented huge supply chain and manufacturing challenges. PCBsync’s full electronic manufacturing service was the solution. They didn’t just build the PCB; they managed the entire box-build, sourced all components (even during shortages), and implemented a rigorous quality control system that drastically reduced our field failure rate. They act as a true extension of our own production team.

RT duroid 5280LZ 1.0mm 1oz 10u Gold 4-Layer Low-DK RF Circuit

Product Details

Short Description (for WooCommerce snippet)

A premium 4-layer Rogers RT/duroid 5880LZ RF PCB engineered for mmWave and high-frequency applications. Featuring a 1.0mm dielectric core, 1oz electrodeposited copper, and 10µ” immersion gold (ENIG) finish, this lightweight low-Dk laminate from PCBSync delivers exceptional signal integrity from sub-6 GHz through 40+ GHz — ideal for 5G, radar, and satellite designs.

Long Description

When millimeter-wave performance and weight savings both matter, RT/duroid 5880LZ is the substrate engineers reach for. This PCBSync-built 4-layer board pairs Rogers’ lightest PTFE laminate with a precision 1.0mm dielectric thickness, 1oz copper cladding, and a 10µ” gold ENIG surface finish — a configuration purpose-built for 5G mmWave antennas, automotive radar, satellite payloads, and aerospace RF modules where every dB of insertion loss counts.

What Makes RT/duroid 5880LZ Different

RT/duroid 5880LZ is a glass-microfiber-reinforced PTFE composite engineered with hollow ceramic microspheres. This proprietary filler system delivers the lowest dielectric constant in Rogers’ RT/duroid family — Dk 1.96 ± 0.04 at 10 GHz — along with a dissipation factor of just 0.0019 (typical). The result: faster signal propagation, wider trace widths at any given impedance, and ultra-low insertion loss well into Ku-band and beyond.

The “LZ” designation reflects its low Z-axis CTE. With X/Y/Z thermal expansion values closely matched to copper, plated-through-hole reliability stays rock-solid through aerospace and automotive temperature cycles. The hollow-sphere filler also makes the laminate noticeably lighter than standard 5880 — a meaningful advantage for airborne and space-bound hardware.

Why This Configuration Works

The 1.0mm core provides a stable, predictable platform for compact RF modules without sacrificing impedance control. 1oz copper strikes the ideal balance between fine-line etching capability and current handling, while the 10µ” ENIG finish delivers flat, oxidation-resistant pads — critical for fine-pitch BGAs, wire bonding, and multi-cycle lead-free reflow. A 4-layer stackup gives designers dedicated RF signal layers, solid ground reference planes, and DC routing room on one of the lowest-loss substrates Rogers manufactures.

Typical Applications

  • 5G mmWave base station antennas (28 GHz / 39 GHz)
  • 77 GHz automotive radar and ADAS sensors
  • Satellite communication payloads and SATCOM terminals
  • Phased-array and AESA radar systems
  • Lightweight UAV and airborne radar electronics
  • High-precision RF test and measurement fixtures
